We’re grateful to Bill Bates, the present owner of Stone Cottage, for bringing this newspaper article to our attention. The house is an interesting property because it has a ‘flying freehold’. This means that the first floor of the adjacent property, ie the village shop ahnd church office, is actually part of Stone Cottage.
