Springate Cottage is on the outskirts of the village. It is described as a 17th century or earlier timber framed house by English Heritage and is a grade 1 listed building. Mr Roy Bishop was born in the house in the 1930s and he has kindly provided us with the following photograph. The photograph was taken around 1932. Springate 1932
