Extract from the Henham & Elsenham Church News in June 1963
A Hundred Years Old. We are proud to record that one of our readers, a former resident of Henham, celebrates her hundredth birthday this month. She is Fanny Elizabeth Mumford, of Durban North, Natal, South Africa, who was born at sea on June the 28th 1863. She was grand-daughter of John Mumford of Pledgedon Hall, who was for 24 years churchwarden of Henham; her grand-mother was Elizabeth Stallibrass of Henham Lodge. The names of Mumford and Stallibrass were very prominent in Henham church life in the nineteenth century, and the village owed a great deal to these families. Some Henham people will remember Miss Mumford staying in Henham, at Yarrow Hall, for some time between the wars. We congratulate you Miss Mumford, on your centenary and wish you God’s richest blessing from your beloved Henham
